As an industry and academic standard, Applied Drilling Engineering presents engineering science fundamentals as well as examples of engineering applications involving those fundamentals. Two appendices are included, along with numerous examples. Answers are included for every end-of-chapter question. Contents: Rotary drilling - Drilling fluids - Cements - Drilling hydraulics - Rotary drilling bits - Formation pore pressure and fracture resistance - Casing design - Directional drilling and deviation control - Appendix: Development of equations for non-Newtonian liquids in a rotational viscometer - Appendix: Development of slot flow approximations for annular flow for non-Newtonian fluids.
The book was established in 1986 by Adam T. Bourgoyne and his partners and is widely used in the Oil and Gas industry, especially for Drilling Engineers and Students. The book covers fundamentals definitions, equations and techniques for drilling activities. Futher more, it is used as textbook for training programs at many universities all over the world.
With our mission as a local Student Chapter in Vietnam, we would love to share this ''must have'' text book to all SPE members and non-members. Also, we consider this as a basic step to prepare for the 2017 North Vietnam PetroBowl Competition, which is comming soon in early December this year.
