2016 Field Trip I Xuan Mai - Cam Thuy

On May 21th 2016, HUMG SPE Student Chapter organized a full day trip: Visiting Geological section Xuan Mai – Cam Thuy with the propose:

- Providing members knowledge of sedimentary rocks, identifying rocks and geological phenomena.
- Connecting members of HUMG SPE Student Chapter
- Enhancing Chapter’s activities and promoting Chapter’s influence.
     We are honored to have the guide of three lecturers from faculty of Geology – Ha Noi University of Mining and Geology: PhD. Le Tien Dung, Master. Nguyen Trung Thanh and Lecturer. Pham Truong Sinh. As well as the joining of 24 members of HUMG SPE Student Chapter.

Detail about the trip:

- Study itinerary: Ha Noi – Xuan Mai – Yen Thuy – Cam Thuy – Ninh Binh (Nui Goi) – Nam Dinh (Vu Ban) – Ha Noi: 420km in total.
- Transport vehicle: 30 seats bus
- Participants: 3 lecturers, 24 members and 3 executive board members.
- Time: 5.30am to 7.30pm, May 21th 2016

Support: SPE Vietnam, Faculty of Oil and Gas, Faculty of Geology (HUMG), Oil and Gas Club, Geology Club

	10:30am -12:30pm	Yen Thuy- Cam Thuy Study Cam Thuy basalt quarry and Trias sediment.
	12:30pm – 1:15pm	Lunch time
	1:15pm - 3: 30pm	Cam Thuy – Yen Thuy – Ninh Binh Study the Trias sediment, material water, limestone.
	3:30pm – 5:00pm	Ninh Binh – Nui Goi Study Cambrian age metamorphic rocks
	5:00pm -7:30pm	Come back Hanoi

4, Conclusion

   Field trip 1: Visiting geological section Xuan Mai – Cam Thuy was hosted successfully and brought HUMG SPE members certain knowledge of sediment rocks, limestone, basalt as well as recognize geological phenomena that connected with the fields of study of Petroleum and Geology students.

   We not only helped our members had a chance to practice their received theory in reality situation but also connected members and lectures together. To do that, we had a great fortune for receiving supports from Faculty of Oil & Gas and Faculty of Geology – HUMG as well as SPE Vietnam. We also would like to give special thanks to Oil & Gas Club for helping us in Public Relation activity and Geology Club for supporting us in building field trip’s content. Finally, on the behalf of HUMG SPE Student Chapter we would like to give many thanks to members for go along with chapter’s activities during the pass time.
